Clinton Loans Her Campaign $6.4 Million?
By adminWASHINGTON – A campaign aide says Hillary Rodham
Clinton lent herself $6.4 million in the past month.
Politically wounded and financially strapped, Clinton plunged back into the presidential campaign Wednesday even as Barack Obama declared that Tuesday’s primary results left him with a “clear path to victory.”
Obama beat Clinton soundly in North Carolina and fell just short in an Indiana cliffhanger, a rebound for the Illinois senator that presented Clinton with fast-dwindling chances to deny him the Democratic presidential nomination.
The loan more than doubles Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.
My question for you. . .
Is someone who loans themselves $6.4 million to fund a race that is basically over someone you want to control the purse strings of the United States government? Is this a prudent way to spend money?

She wants it bad enough to take the chance.

“Lent” herself $6.4 million?
1. Is she going to make her campaign repay the debt? “The donations are coming in again Ms Clinton” “GOOD, send ‘em straight to Switzerland!”
2. Nothing like be seriously wealthy to be able to connect with the common man.
Or is it an investment she intends to recoup in the job? How many years do you have to spend on a president’s salary to legitimaly earn that money? A bit longer than eight years me thinks.

Good question, I can think of so much GOOD that kind of money could do I think “all” presidential campaigns have gotten out of hand, there should be a limit set, not just the amount an individual can contribute. If they go over the set limit, then that should be donated to feed the poor and starving. No I would not want her as president, for the first time in 45 years I am voting independent. No Clinton, no Obama.

She and Bill have a net worth of roughly $100 million, so $6.4 million more won’t break them. It just shows how badly she wants to win the Presidency. Given the delegate count, it’s probably not prudent, and it is not a good indicator of the economic decisions she’d make as Commander in Chief. But either is her gas tax mumbo jumbo.

It indicates tenacity and doggedness – but neither levity nor the best interest of the Democratic party. She seems to be ultimately alleviating herself of, now, $11M of her personal money.
Question- Am I correct in believing that when she drops out with an $11M loan to herself she forfeits the money unless she recoups it from donations to her campaign in the meantime?

Doesn’t she get that its almost impossible for her to win? Unless almost every unpledged delegates decides to go for her, she’s not going to make it. Why oh Why can she not just drop out peacefully?

She is a selfish woman. She’s not running for the Democrats, rather just for herself.

If you ask me the people don`t want Hillary if she has to use her own money.

No, I do not want her running the US. I can now add that to my list of things I don’t like about her.

it’s a sign that few people want her.
Even most Democrats think she’s dishonest.

my short answer is “no”. I could go on about this for a long time, but I won’t. All I’ll say is that I’m leaving the country if she wins.

She just doesn’t want to give up. It’s so stuip.

I guess she can waste her money any way she feels like. She’s going to make it all back from future book deals anyway. Not to mention that it’s a loan to her campaign that pays back with interest. So actually she won’t be losing anything, but will in fact get back more than she put into it. It remains to be seen if she will continue to receive the financial support that she will need to fight the person that the majority of democrats have pretty much decided should be the nominee. Her problem is that the momentum is on his side; she won’t be able to expand any margins that she has now in the remaining primaries, since less and less people are going to be able to take anything she says seriously in the face of the inevitability of Obama’s candidacy.
